IDADA - First Friday & Opening Nights

IDADA presents the First Friday Art Tour, featuring 39 downtown venues. The Harrison Center for the Arts is hosting the 8th Annual IDADA Membership Exhibition and opening reception. Next, check out the opening reception for Michal Lile's Transitions & Possibilities at Gallery 924. Afterwards, visit the Kuaba Gallery to preview the upcoming exhibit "Teeth and Tongue, " featuring new works by painter Steven Sickles and mixed media sculptors Tony Bayles and Bruce Lyons.

This multi-media exhibition includes paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures by Mary Beth Verdone and Jaymi Tharp. Next, view paintings by artist Katrina Murray at the her opening reception hosted by WUG LAKU's Studio & Garage. Finally, finish the evening with "Speechless Language" and "Teefville" exhibitions at the Indy Indie Artist Colony.

This solo, multi-media exhibition includes photography, video, drawing and Cooper's signature style painting. Next, view paintings by artist Kate Oberreich at the her opening reception hosted by Nancy Lee Designs. Finally, finish the evening with "Universal Language" an exhibition at the KUABA Gallery that features new artists, new mediums, and new works.

IDADA presents the First Friday Art Tour, featuring 25 downtown venues. Join the new IDADA gallery Arch at Chatham, for the inaugural exhibit, "Two Ghazals," pigment prints by Dorothy Stites Alig. Then visit the Athenaeum Artspace for exhibits featuring three perspectives on Haiti: beauty, heartbreak, and empathy. During this exquisite exhibit, enjoy free wine and appetizers from the Mass Ave Wine Shoppe. Finish the evening with "SOS," sculptural work by design engineer Dominic Sansone at WUG Laku's Studio & Garage.

IDADA presents the First Friday Art Tour, featuring 25 downtown venues. Join the new IDADA gallery Arch at Chatham, for a beautiful Spring evening of art, music and conversation. Then visit the new IDADA gallery member Dewclaw for "Night Driving," a group of paintings based on an experience Anita Giddings had while driving at night. Lastly, challenge your perception of space and understanding of what a painting & sculpture can be at the new 3 Mass gallery. 


 

February 23, 2012IDADA - First Friday Second Chance

Several IDADA First Friday Art Tour venues are staying open late Thursday, February 23, for closing receptions for their February exhibitions. The move is an effort to allow regular First Friday goers a second chance to view the shows they may have missed during the Super First Friday openings due to traffic or other happenings around town on Super Bowl weekend. 


 

February 3, 2012IDADA - First Friday

The visual art phenomenon known locally as the IDADA First Friday Art Tour is eager to welcome First Friday veterans, first-timers, and out-of-towners this Friday, February 3, from 6:00-9:00pm. Start your tour at TURF: the IDADA Art Pavilion, where you can check out galleries featuring installation artwork. While you're there, grab an IDADA First Friday Art Tour map and catch a shuttle to one of the Celebration Sites where galleries , The Alkis Keramidas Museum of Art, and restaurants await. The First Friday after party is at TURF this Friday from 9 to Midnight. Admission is $5.00 with cash bar and food provided by Skyline Club Cafe. 


 

January 14 - February 5, 2012IDADA - TURF Art Pavilion

IDADA's mission is to represent local Indianapolis and Indiana artists on their turf to the audience visiting for the Super Bowl, another event that takes place on turf, played by teams who will be representing their own hometown turf. IDADA envisions the Art Pavilion as the launching point of Turf, which aims to drive visitors from the pavilion to various IDADA-member galleries/museums in a 20-square-block area of downtown Indianapolis. Turf will culminate with the Feb. 3 "First Friday" gallery tour, making it a highlight of the citywide series of events Super Bowl weekend. 

The Alkis Keramidas Museum of Art is one of the local museums featured in the First Friday Art Tour.
